First of all as a mum you should be given yourselves a massive pat on the back as for the last 9 months you have done the most amazing workout that you will ever complete!!! However when you look at yourself in the mirror that workout has completely changed your body in every way possible- you have lumps and bumps in places that you didn’t even though existed.

New Mums Workout Too!

As a new mum the pressure that is on us is crazy!!!! With the celebrity world going into overdrive with how you should look and feel and the rebound baby body – this is not real.

Trust me… as a fitness professional and I trained right up with all my pregnancies (3 children) and it still took me and still taking me time to get back to my pre-baby body.

So I am here not only as a working mum but as a Personal Trainer to give you some of the best tips that will help you start to change your body and mind to help you achieve the body that you want.

  1. Start of slow- If you are just coming back into exercise make sure that you have had the clearance from your GP or Health visitor to start an exercise programme.

  2. Take your baby with you- going for a power walk is one of the best exercises that you can do that will help you to target your cardio fitness- burn cals and start to target the hops and thighs- Bring your baby with you and try to go to a park where there is available the exercise machines to target the upper body- (Wallace park- Loughshore – Antrim Gardens) – start of with just 15 reps on each then each week build it up to 20-30 reps.

  3. Home workout- There is so many exercise videos that you can choose from that will help you too. So put the baby down for the morning nap my baby normally sleeps 1 hour in the morning so I will put on either Gillian Michales 30 min power workout or Davina McCall. Or I will follow my own 30 min workout target cardio- lower and upper body.

  4. Nutrition- Calorie deficit is the only way that you will lose weight the correct way. I don’t believe in diets as with 3 children I can’t afford to be HANGRY----- so the best advice I would give is to enjoy your food - moderation is key – no diet products as they are hiding with sugars.

For me I followed the Herbalife plan as a mum of 3 and always on the go I need products that not only will fill me up but that are great for me too.
