It's February, the month of love. For this Craft Hub we are making super cute fluffy love bugs that can be given out for Valentines Day. Kids of all ages can participate in this make, but adult supervision will be required during the use of scissors.

For each child taking part in this project you will need:

a fork
wool
1 pipe cleaner
2 googly eyes
1 small piece of craft foam

You will also need scissors and PVA glue

These love bugs are so adorable and super easy to make. This craft is a great way to build up little ones counting skills and fine motor skills.

Enjoy!

Step 2

Take the fork and wrap the wool around the prongs 50 times counting as you go along. This helps build up your little ones counting skills.

Step 3

This step can be a little bit tricky for younger participants, but it will help with their fine motor skills.

Slide the wound wool off the fork and tie a piece of wool tight around which will create loops on either side.

Step 4

Adult supervision is required at this stage.

Use the scissors to cut all the loops - you will now have a fluffy pompom. Trim the edges to make it even.

Step 5

Cut a little notch out of the craft foam to create feet for your love bug. We used a circle foam so we folded it in half and cut a v shape out.

Now glue your pompom on top of the foam. Your bug is now taking shape.

Step 6

Cut a piece of the pipe cleaner off. Twist it into a heart shape and glue it to the top of the pompom. It's really looking cute now.

Step 7

The final step is to glue the googly eyes on.  Now you have an adorable fluffy love bug.

You could put a sticky pad underneath the foam base and stick it to your dashboard in the car, on top of your computer screen or even to a lollipop stick to make a lovely book mark.

Have your little ones made this craft? We would be delighted to see the outcome.

Happy Valentines Day, much love to you all!
