February is the month of love so we have decided to make these beautiful Jewelled Valentine's Sun Catchers. Kids of all ages can participate in this craft, but adult supervision is required at all times due to the use of small items.
For each child taking part in this project, you will need:
a scrap of clear plastic
PVA glue
Jewels, sequins, diamontes, glitter
thick thread, wool or twine
These Jewelled Sun Catchers are a great way to let children use their imagination to create a multitude of designs. We have used a heart shape as it's February but you can cut any shape you wish. We think these Sun Catchers would make ideal Valentine's Day gifts for family and friends, or even as an activity for a birthday party.
We used a piece of clear plastic that was on packaging for nail polishes. You could use the plastic packaging from ham or a milk carton, but please make sure to wash and dry the plastic thoroughly to prevent any smells.
Enjoy!
For each child participating in this project you will need:
a scrap of clear plastic
PVA glue
Jewels, sequins, diamontes, glitter
thick thread, wool or twine
Cut a heart shape out of the plastic scrap and punch a hole at the top with a hole punch.
Spread PVA glue over the heart.
It's time to get creative! Stick on the jewels, sequins, diamontes, glitter - whatever you have to work with. There is no right or wrong way to do this, only the fun way, so let you child have free rein.
Once your Sun Catcher has dried, thread the thick thread/wool/twine through the hole and tie off to create a hanging loop.
Now you are ready to hang your Jewelled Sun Catcher and watch it sparkle.
Have your little ones made this craft? We would be delighted to see the outcome. Send us a pic to our Facebook Page
Happy Valentines Day, much love to you all!
