So, here we are in September. The children are all back to school for another year and pretty soon the homeworks will be flowing. Some children find settling back into school quite stressful, especially those with a sensory need, like our daughter. Which is way for this Mums NI Craft Hub, we thought it was pretty apt that we make Stress Balls.
The children will really enjoy this easy craft, which is suitable for all ages. They can be taken into school to be used as fidget distractions and the great thing is - they make no noise!
For each child taking part in this project you will need: a balloon, an empty bottle, a funnel, 1/2 cup of flour
Enjoy!
Provide each child with a balloon, a dry empty bottle, a funnel (or rolled up sheet of paper to make a funnel) and 1/2 cup of flour. This will make 1 stress ball.
Put the spout of the funnel into the neck of the bottle and pour in the flour.
Stretch the balloon over the neck of the bottle.
Turn the bottle upside down and allow the flour to fall into the balloon.
At this stage, you will need to squeeze the bottle to force the flour into the balloon. Give the bottle a few consecutive squeezes until all the flour is inside the balloon.
Once you have all the flour inside the balloon, peel the balloon off the bottle neck and tie it in a knot.
Now you have your stress ball.
Use different coloured balloons to make more stress balls. You could even use a sharpie to decorate your new stress ball.
Enjoy destressing!
Have you made this craft? We would be delighted to see the outcome.
