Tractor Ted, childrens favourite farming superhero, will be making his first visit to Northern Ireland for a weekend of real life farm fun and discovery as he makes an appearance at the number one family outdoor festival of the summer, Dalriada Festival, in the picturesque Glenarm Castle estate.
Farm based fun activities include the Tractor Ted bouncy castle and Digger Den, where kids can scoop up balls with the digger bucket, welly wangling and the fun farm to fork activity trail.
Adrian Morrow, managing director, Glenarm Castle, said: “We pride ourselves in being the number one outdoor family friendly festival in Northern Ireland every summer. Over the past ten years we’ve brought a new childrens activity to the festival each year and this year bringing Tractor Ted to Northern Ireland for the first time is something very special. We’re looking forward to our farmers of the future being entertained by Tractor Ted and his real life farm throughout the weekend.”
Tractor Ted will be joined by superheroes Catyboy and Owelette of PJ Masks fame and parents and grandparents won’t be left out as there is a packed schedule of entertaining fun for the whole family across the festival on 14 and 15 July. As well as the hugely competitive wife carrying championships, where competitors can win a holiday to Venice, fitness fans will be treated to the first fitness racing championships to take place at Glenarm Castle with participants from Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connaught. The Co Antrim pipe band championships will provide the musical entertainment on Saturday afternoon before a host of globally recognised artists take to the 3,500 seater main stage as dusk settles.
Performers include an eclectic mix of homegrown and international talent; Alabama 3, Hermitage Green, X Factor winner Matt Cardle, General Fiasco, Gareth Dunlop, The Electric Swing Circus, Runabay, Dana Masters, Ben Glover and Ryan McMullan, who has been supporting Ed Sheeran.
Daily, weekend and camping tickets are available to buy online at www.dalriadafestival.co.uk or tel 028 2884 1023.
