SPACE 1 - Supporting Families and Individuals.
We work with families who are struggling with physical and mental health problems, family breakdown, parenting difficulties, financial problems and isolation. We provide family support workers to assist with childcare, household chores, transport to medical appointments etc. A family support worker can advise on services, grants and benefits and help you access these by identifying relevant services, making referrals and supporting you through the application process.

SPACE 2 – Supporting People and Communities
We are the lead organisation for the Newry and Mourne Family Support Hub. We work with other statutory and voluntary organisations to identify solutions for families going through tough times.

SPACE 3 – Supporting Potential and Community Enterprise
Love Your Space and The Good Space retail store are a means of generating income to help fund support for more families and individuals. Both premises offer training for people with additional needs.

I worked as a Mental Health Nurse but had to become a stay at home parent as one of my four children was a school refuser with severe anxiety. I chose to home school for a period of time, while waiting on a diagnosis of ASD for my child.
I found myself searching for support for my own child, as the available services were not the right "fit" for her, I was also frantically searching for support for her siblings and myself as no one seemed to understand what was going on for our family.
I have volunteered with a group supporting parents of children with SEN and also with a group that delivered Emotional Well-Being Programmes in Primary Schools.
I eventually found Ollie and His Super Powers and decided to train as an Ollie Coach, as it is about building Resilience and Emotional Well-Being in children and young people.
Ollie Coaches are trained in the Ollie Concept and can teach children how to communicate and manage their emotions more effectively at home and in the school environment, we can also support siblings, parents and any individual or organisation that works with children by training them to "Speak Ollie". I am the first Ollie Coach in N Ireland and very much hope that there will be many more in the future.

Mindfulness Connected Learning was established and is directed by Veronica Ellis (BEd (Hons) PQH).
Veronica has been practising mindfulness for 17 years and is dedicated to bringing mindfulness to communities, schools, organisations and individuals. She has completed Mindfulness teacher training with Bangor University, Youth Mindfulness, Glasgow and Mindfulness In Schools Project, Manchester.
Mindfulness is essentially very simple; it simply means to be aware of - in touch with - the present moment. And yet, in cultivating this simple and innate capacity we open up new possibilities for releasing stresses, for connecting more deeply with each moment of life, for relating to ourselves and others in new ways. Mindfulness is not a practice limited to the meditation cushion or something to be done for just 30 minutes a day, rather it is a way of being that can come alive in all situations and all moments of our daily life.
Mindfulness can have a profound and transformative effect for children, adults and organisations by cultivating compassion, self -awareness, joy and resilience.
Veronica teaches adults, children and teenagers as well as children and young adults with learning difficulties.

We believe that the health and wellbeing of every family is inextricably linked to the health and wellbeing of the parents. It is estimated that 1 in 10 parents will suffer with a mental illness after the birth of a child, though this figure may actually be closer to 1 in 5. In Northern Ireland, 80% of women will have no access to specialist care if they are diagnosed with a perinatal mental illness.

Our conference aims to educate and raise awareness of perinatal mental health issues and to encourage collaboration to improve services for families in Northern Ireland living with a mental illness. We are bringing together people from a wide range of backgrounds from parents to health professionals to politicians with the aim of ensuring that every parent suffering can get access to the right care at the right time.

This event is co-ordinated by a group of five volunteers who are passionate about this particular topic. We believe that the power of collaboration can help us make a real difference and we invite you all to join us in making sure families in Northern Ireland are receiving the care they deserve during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

We believe that every woman deserves to have the best opportunity for a straightforward and positive birth experience regardless of her method of birth.

Our conference aims to educate, raise awareness of and promote positive birthing in Northern Ireland. We want to provide opportunities for women and their supporters to become active players in their births, and in developing the services available in our health service and private sectors.

This event is being co-ordinated by ALC Events, an event management company with a passion for events that promote wellbeing in the community and bring together key stakeholders to collaborate and improve service in Northern Ireland.
