Children's yoga and mindfulness classes

The classes are split into three:

*Step 1 - breath work and mindfulness
When we are mindful we bring our attention to the present, helping the children to focus, rationalise, concentrate, and become aware of their body and surroundings.
Breath work helps to keep the children in the present and can be used as a coping technique in stressful situations, in class we will discuss situations when we may use our breathing to calm our minds and centre our thoughts, taking a moment to ourselves. Studies show that it helps to improve circulation and mental function.

Step 2 - yoga
The practice of yoga not only improves balance and body awareness, studies show that it can help to calm the mind improving concentration, attention span, learning ability and memory function.

Step 3 - gratitude and guided meditation
Here we take time to think about everything we are grateful for, we come together to send out negative thoughts out to the universe, we thank our bodies and our fellow yogis for our practice and finish the class snuggled under blankets, eyes closed, relaxation music on as I take the children through guided age appropriate meditation.
