To celebrate the International Year of the Periodic Table The School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering in collaboration with The Ulster Museum are hosting a summer event with lots for chemistry experiments in the Element Hall at the Ulster Museum. The event is FREE and runs from the 1st August to 15th Sept 2019, every Thursday & Friday (2pm to 4:30) and Saturday & Sunday (10:30am to 4:30pm). Kids will have the opportunity to take part in the hands-on chemistry experiments and quiz our STEM Ambassadors about the experiments.
Live demonstrations will include:-
Generate Light from a ‘Lemon Battery’!
Chemical Separation – the Wondrous World of ‘Chromatography’!
‘Metal Alloys’- Turn an Old Copper Coin into a Shiny Brass Penny!
Power from Water – The Magic of ‘Fuel Cells’!
And much more!
They will also have the opportunity to take part in a colouring/short story competition as part of the event and win their own chemistry set.
