Chickenpox

So yesterday evening I discovered spots on my daughters face and some on her neck and arm, my son had them on his chest, back and a few down below. Have a bath last night with some lotion and this morning the spots aren't as I expected thought they'd be cover but they aren't. How long can it take for all the spots to come out ? Any advice is helpful I also have a 8 week old at home I'm worried in case he gets them ( if it's them that is)

Poor pets! Sorry to hear this! :( When my 2 got theirs, the spots came out quite quickly. we could actually see them coming out it was that fast. But it slowed down after ah hour or so. Then a constant wave of new spots for a few days. It's horrible! If you're worried, give your GP a call and explain.

Yes just like pattie said, when my little girl had them they appeared really quickly right before our eyes. Hers settled then a new wave of spots arrived few days later. She was very irritable with them too. Our pharmacist recommended virasooth for them. It was a cooling gel that stopped the itch and she ended up with very little scarring. Maybe check with your pharmacist or gp just to make sure that's what they have. If it is chicken pox, the little one may eventually catch them too as they spread. With your daughter, keep her hair tied back so it causes less itching on her face. My little girl had her hair tied up for days on end and I couldnt get it brushed as she had the pox all over her wee scalp. It would have been a ball of tangles if it was left down. Hope they feel better soon xx

So would appear after buying out Tescos and a visit to the doctors it wasn't chickenpox, turns out it's insect bites. My mother and brother have the same spots. My parents hired a hot tub over the weekend and they live across from a lot of fields with the rain and sun it's brought out all the bugs. Poor kids were put in a course of antihistamines. But all better now and we've dodged the poxs once more lol
